Afghan survivor recalls horror as Pakistan-Afghanistan ceasefire brings fragile calm

A fragile ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan appears to be holding after a week of deadly clashes that killed dozens on both sides — the worst fighting in years.
In Kandahar’s Spin Boldak district, a Pakistani air raid destroyed a family home, killing five members, including four children and a woman, and injuring eight others.
A survivor described the devastation, saying his family had no involvement in the conflict and pleaded for an end to the violence.
He urged both Taliban and Pakistani forces to stop the fighting, saying nothing good comes from war and Afghans have already suffered enough.
