Global energy prices and the number of ships passing through the critical Strait of Hormuz are still uncertain, days after top-level talks between the US and Iran wrapped up in Switzerland.
There is no definitive picture of how many vessels are moving through the waterway.
Some shipping websites show a partial rebound. But traffic is still far below normal levels.
Hundreds of ships remain stuck. But the UN has started evacuating 11,000 stranded seafarers.
The Strait lies within Iranian and Omani territorial waters.
On Tuesday, both countries said they would look at how to administer the route together, while charging fees.
But Oman now says it will keep the Strait open without tolls and has designated two temporary routes for safe passage.
