A second batch of files relating to Peter Mandelson’s appointment as the UK’s ambassador to the US have just been released.
UK PM Keir Starmer appointed Mandelson to the role in December 2024, but sacked him nine months later after new details about his relationship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein emerged.
Mandelson is under criminal investigation over allegations of misconduct in public office and has repeatedly let it be known that he believes he has not acted criminally, did not act for personal gain and is co-operating with police
