France bans Israeli minister Ben Gvir after flotilla controversy

France has banned Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir from entering the country following controversy over his treatment of detainees from the Gaza aid flotilla.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot described Ben Gvir’s actions as “unspeakable” after footage emerged showing the Israeli minister taunting members of the flotilla at Ashdod port. The videos were later shared on social media.

Barrot also criticized the tactics of flotilla activists, saying their actions had “no useful effect,” while tensions continue to rise over Israel’s blockade of Gaza and the interception of aid ships.

The diplomatic dispute comes amid growing international scrutiny over Israel’s handling of Gaza-related protests and humanitarian missions.
