UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has begun his address, stressing unity in a time when the role of the UN on the global stage has been increasingly questioned.
Guterres has referenced several global conflicts, first mentioning the war in Sudan and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
But Guterres gave particular emphasis to the war in Gaza, which is set to define this year’s General Debate.
